you're at a crossroads and you don't know what to do
leaving seems best to you.
the finger you're pointing keeps pointing back at you
you've lost your capacity for truth.
you speak words of agony and defeat
your only option...retreat
but i say

don't go
don't give up so soon
don't give in so fast
few things in this world last
you've got to lay rest the past
move on forward
pray and fast
you've got to stop looking back.

what's behind you won't catch up
if you face it strong
confront it head on
and declare you're anew
so it can no longer control you
so you can dismiss it for good.

i don't want to see you forfeit your future
because of what you refuse to endure
now, in this time, in this place
i know it can feel like just an empty space
so lonesome, bleak and gray
but please trust me, it won't always be this way
just walk through the crud
hang on to God's Love
and in the end
you will have won.
