i'm leaving work early today to go pick up my sister in law. we're going to a womens' retreat put on by her church. it'll be somewhere in palm springs, and i'm looking forward to it. so much so, that last nite i couldn't sleep. i had intended on being in bed by 11pm, so that i could get into work by 8am, but i fell asleep closer to 2am and still got up at 7 to get to work by 8. it's 10 right now and i'm exhausted. i'm definitely not in my twenties anymore. =
i'd been wanting to get away for a weekend for a while now. susan had invited me to a scrapbooking retreat this weekend as well, and i really wanted to go...but it was $200. =( [for those of you who are rolling their eyes at the thought of a retreat devoted to scrapbooking, don't knock it til you try it!] this womens' retreat is only $50, and hopefully i get to spend some quality time with my new SIL. i don't know her very well yet, but i'm hoping that will change soon. so far i find her to be immensely likeable...pretty easy-going and the kind that likes to laugh a lot. she's pregnant too, with a girl, so it's an exciting time for the whole family. i can't wait to see what my new niece looks like! =D i wonder if she'll have a big head, as large craniums run in the jung family. [i was all head when i was little too, so i know for dang sure that my kid will have a large head...] anyway, i'm sad to be leaving emmanuel...it'll be our first wkend apart and i'm already starting to miss him...but i'm looking forward to getting to know my SIL better. i'm big on family, so i'd like for us to be close. of course, i know sometimes it just doesn't work out that way, but i can try. i just wish i had the same attitude towards my parents in law, who i found out are arriving on wednesday. i'm already starting to stress about it...there are tons of things i'd like to get done around our apt before they get here. i don't want them to say i don't keep our place clean enough or ask why i haven't done this or that yet. but i guess i'll have to worry about that after i get back from the retreat.
